Rhinebeck Democrats Club

Why a Rhinebeck Democrats Club?

Democracy requires the active and informed participation of citizens in the civic affairs of the Community. The club was formed to:

  1. Foster accountability, accessibility and  transparency from elected and Democratic party officials;
  2. Further the interest and participation of all citizens in the civic affairs of our community;
  3. Eliminate conflict of interests in the election of officials and the operation of government, and to promote the adoption of public policies based upon documented best practices and objective criteria; and
  4. To develop and support candidates for public office of ability and integrity and who are representative of a broad spectrum of our community demographics and who are dedicated to public service, diversity, equity, inclusion and measures designed to serve all the people.

Why join the Rhinebeck Democrats Club?

Become a member of the Rhinebeck Democrats Club if you want to:

· Be informed about what is going on in the affairs of the community,

· Promote open government in Rhinebeck,

· Influence public policy and elections, or

· Develop political and leadership skills.

Who can join the Rhinebeck Democrats Club?

You can join the Rhinebeck Democrats Club if you are enrolled as a Democrat or as an unaffiliated voter in the State of New York provided that you reside, work, or have some other significant interest such as property ownership in the Town of Rhinebeck including the Village of Rhinebeck and Hamlet of Rhinecliff.

Who can vote at Rhinebeck Democrats Club meetings?

You can vote at Rhinebeck Democrats Club meetings if you are an enrolled Democratic voter in the Town of Rhinebeck including the Village of Rhinebeck and the Hamlet of Rhinecliff. In order to provide a voice to people who do not already have an official role in the political affairs of our community, the following groups of people may not vote at Rhinebeck Democrats Club meeting because they already have a significant influence in the community: officials elected to public office, members of the Rhinebeck Democratic Committee, officers, steering committee members or executive committee members of other political committees as defined by the New York Board of Elections, people with a leadership, planning, fund raising or tactical role in an electoral campaign.
